Xbox 360 Hack - claim
I suppose it didn't take too long for someone to figure out how to get "back-up"/bootleg discs to run on the Xbox 360 and bypass the security and authentication process at boot.
This process is similar to the process identified earlier this year for modifying the original Xbox's DVD drive which involved overwriting the drive's firmware with a "built in" security check from an existing Xbox game.
