time well wasted?

looks like napster is jumping into an alliance with a mobile phone partner.

napster will join forces with sonyericsson to develop a mobile music service that will compete with apple and motorola. lets hope they have something in mind thats remotely resembles an idea:

The reinvented Napster is moving into wireless via an alliance with Ericsson. The companies are teaming to launch a Napster-branded mobile digital music service. The service will let users download music files to their handsets or other mobile devices. The companies are combining their respective strengths: the Napster brand and Ericsson's existing personalized music service. The service will be offered in monthly subscription and a la carte formats. Pricing hasn't yet been announced, but the companies expect to unveil the service first in Europe sometime within the next year. Other target markets include Asia, Latin America and North America.
