baby steps towards interoperability..
to allow interoperability between their subscribers so they can send phone to phone picture messages.
what does this mean? well it means that the "send" market has just increased by millions for members of each network. currently, you can't cross networks with phone to phone photo messages. cingular will now allow photo messages from verizon and vice versca.
this is a baby step and no different then the evolution of text messaging interoperability. its just happening a little slower then expected.
